Beach Lures Gamblers To AC Casinos On Memorial Day Weekend

It has been a difficult couple of years for Atlantic City’s casino industry. The economic downturn kept quite a few customers away, and then a few neighboring states expanded their own gambling options and started taking players who would otherwise have gone to Atlantic City.

This Memorial Day weekend, Atlantic City got a helping hand from Mother Nature, who did something which casinos themselves could never accomplish on their own, the weather brought players to the tables. The good weather brought many vacationers to the infamous Atlantic City boardwalk with it’s food, fun, and that thrill of gambling. During periods of bad weather, most players prefer to play online casino games. Online slot games can be just as much fun, and online casinos offer a huge selection of slots online.

The weather itself was pleasant all weekend long, but this isn’t unusual. During the past few years the weather has been quite nice at other times, and customers still weren’t showing up at the casinos to play. It is pretty clear that the improving economy also played a role in bringing the gamblers back to the tables.

While the news for this past weekend was good, it doesn’t mean that Atlantic City casinos are out of the woods just yet. Pennsylvania and Delaware have now both legalized table games for their casinos, and these increased gaming options will surly steal some of the customers away from Atlantic City.

Last summer, Connecticut’s two biggest casino resorts teamed up on a billboard campaign running down the New Jersey Turnpike that encouraged travelers to go to Connecticut to gamble.
